Moxie Bakery and Cafe (629 N. Market Street) doesn’t just provide great vegan options – it provides them for a great cause! The restaurant is the commerical venture of Cakes for Cause, a local organization that works to help at-risk youth in Frederick by providing job training and support for young Frederickans who have aged out of foster care or live in public housing.
From vegan tofu scramble wraps and scones to vegan chocolate cake, Moxie offers up tasty meat-free eats every day. The restaurant also mixes things up by adding new vegan items into the mix on a regular basis. July 4th weekend, for example, they’ll be dishing up BLT sandwiches with tempeh bacon, fried green tomatoes (!!!) and vegan mayonnaise.
